CastAmy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathan Fillion, Clark Gregg, Reed Diamond, Fran Kranz Film descriptionMuch Ado... has forever been a witty comedy of errors and surprises. It matters little whether the romatic and political intrigue plays out in period pieces or during a Santa Monica pool party. The film's tagline claims Shakespeare knows how to throw a party. Joss Whedon, who is more than adept at penning quick-witted dialogue lines, did not add a word, but invited his favorite actors to a shindig. Fans will be delighted to carouse with the A-list crew of Amy Acker (phenomenal as Beatrix) and Tom Lenke (the mustachioed partner of Nathan Fillion) whose virtuosity is apparent as an experienced troupe delivering the classic dialogues and breathing life into situations in an adaptation that is so modest (black-and-white) and shot with ease and forthright pleasure in a mere 12 days. Makes you want to be there - it must be hell of a soirée.
