Film description

You won’t like Jolie, the film’s hero, but he won’t care because his conceit exceeds all bounds. The story plays out in the 1990s, an era when we still knew how to talk face-to-face and watched TV shows and video games on tube televisions. Jolie leads a double life. In one, he’s a high school basketball star adored by a cheerleader. On the down low, he has a romance with Henrietta, his pregnant outcast friend, and a friendship with Haroon, an unpopular nerd. Jolie tries to take as much as he can for himself, but you can’t lead a double life forever. You can watch this relaxed and amusing debut by David Andalman and Mariko Munro like an album of cheesy pictures from your teens – after all, we all had a time in lives when we behaved like idiots.
